I was able to get a job with my msw in astoria which isn’t far from Manhattan. There are opportunities for social workers with degrees in Queens. My friend with a bsw also was able to find work too in Queens (she works in Jamaica).

People that job hunt for NYC from out for state don’t think about the fact that there are jobs also on long island where you can take the LIRR into NYC as well as jamaica, bayside, brooklyn and areas very close to NYC so you can have the benefits of each area.
