Scholarships for Social Workers: Part II

If you plan on pursuing a career as a social worker but are coming up short on funds for your education, then it will help to know that there are so many different options out there regarding scholarships that you will be able to apply to. Some options we discussed were listed in Social Work Scholarships. Applying early is also something to think about for high school students who have a passion for working with others. The National Association of Black Social Workers is one of the best organizations with regards to giving out large amounts of money for those who want to go into social work. It is one of the many minority scholarships out there which are available for a number of people interested in social work. This particular scholarship requires all applicants to have at least a 2.5 grade-point-average as well as being enrolled in a full time social work program as an undergraduate. You must also be enrolled in an accredited college or university somewhere in the U.S.

The Cenie Jomo Williams tuition scholarship is another option for those who want to go to school in order to become a social worker but just don’t have the money to do so. There are two awards given out to students who are accepted in the amount of $2,000. It too is another great option for students who wish to go to an accredit college or university to get the degree necessary to unlock their potential when it comes to getting a job in some sector of social work, whether it be criminal justice or working with children.

Additional Scholarships for Social Workers

Another option that you might want to consider is the John and Louise Semenza Family Scholarship. This scholarship is given to undergraduate students who are either juniors or seniors who get admitted to a social work program in an accredited college or university. Those who qualify must be going full time and earn a minimum of 24 credits per academic year. If you are given this scholarship, you must maintain a GPA of at least 2.0 throughout your entire college career. Having this scholarship could help you out in such a way to where you will not have to worry about paying for your education in order to expand career opportunities in this field of work.
