The obvious purpose of obtaining a grant or scholarship is to obtain money for college. Many states and local communities offer scholarships and some grants to assist students like you. The Deloras Hones Registered Nurse Scholarships from Kaiser Permanente have scholarships for several categories of nurses including the Underrepresented Groups in Nursing category. This particular grouping includes minority and male students. You need to attend a nursing program in California, complete at least one term of college before applying and have a gross income of not more than $50,000 per family member. They provide $1,000 to $2,500 with a mid-March deadline.

The American Assembly for Men in Nursing offer the Johnson and Johnson Scholarship. Annually they supply twenty – $1,000 scholarships to men who are nursing student when funds are available. You have to have proven accomplishment, a GPA of 2.75 and be enrolled in a entry level registered nursing program. Another scholarship they provide for men is the Jadeh Moore Student Nurse Essay Contest with an award of $500.

d) National Black Nurses Association Ambi-Kiwi Scholarship given by the National Black Nurses Association

e) Ted Silver Scholarship from the Parkland College Foundation in Champaign, Illinois

f) New Careers in Nursing Scholarship funded through the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, offered by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing at the University of Virginia School of Nursing

    Thanks for this list. I know that the Ben Stiller movies make being a male nurse look gay but I really think I’d be good at this and want to do this in the future. JB
