It was created in the 90s by Steven Hayes and is considered to be in the school of behavioral and cognitive therapy. Postnatal Depression

postnataldepression Postnatal depression is a term used to describe a certain type of depression which occurs after a woman gives birth. It is common for women who have just went through childbirth to go through a period of feeling depressed or sad, however it can be a serious medical condition which requires proper treatment. The depression which a woman experienced after giving birth can be minimal or more severe, depending on the situation. There are many different factors which play into just how bad the depression is, including the body’s chemistry. I recently had two clients this summer going through this and it can be very debilitating. (more…)

Columbia University School Of Social Work

The Columbia University School of Social Work (CUSSW) in New York City offers both a Master of Science in Social Work and a PhD program in social work. CUSSW offers many options for students wishing to earn a MS in Social Work. The CUSSW curriculum for Master of Science students is traditionally outlined in a four-semester, 60 credit course of study, but also gives students additional options. In the two-year MS program, students take several classroom courses while also participating in field education each week for two school years. (more…)
